Raise your hand if you’ve heard the phrase “self-care isn’t selfish.” We’d be surprised if everyone’s hand isn’t up right now. We’re all on the lookout for the next big way to take care of our mind, body, and soul – but have you thought about simply adding in small tricks to your daily routine instead of changing something dramatically? Here are a few of our favorites.
What does your morning routine look like? Right when you step out of bed, what do you do? Maybe you slump your way to the coffee machine or jump into the shower for a quick wake up.
Just 5 minutes – just 5 stretches – see how adding in a quick and easy yoga flow can get your blood flowing and body ready for the long day ahead.
Hydrate When You Wake
Nightly fast – that’s what your body is doing each night when you sleep. Waking up in the morning, your body is craving nutrients, it’s craving hydration. Before drinking or eating anything else in the morning, start with a full 8oz cup of water. Pro Tip: spice up the flavor with a spritz of lemon or your favorite citrus fruit.
What could be better than a natural way to refresh and re-energize? Try hanging fresh Eucalyptus leaves in your shower as a daily aromatherapy technique essential for reducing stress and congestion.
Did you know that timing your daily moisturizer could be the difference between baby butt soft and Sahara desert skin? Try using the Petal Fresh Pure Coconut Body Butter immediately after getting out of the shower. Pat dry with a towel and massage a generous amount into your skin. The water still left on your body will be trapped by the coconut oil body butter and used to moisturize throughout the day.
Don’t like coconut? We have an array of 6 different scents available here: https://petalfresh.com/shop/pure/pure-body-butters/
Take the stairs
We get it – you’re busy and sometimes you don’t have time to get in 30 minutes of physical activity for the day. Well, stay put because we have some great (quick) tips!
Try skipping the elevator and take the stairs. Better yet, park in the furthest spot of the parking lot when running to the grocery store later. It’s the small extra steps or flights of stairs that are going to help get you to your goal.
Not crazy about cardio? Great, let’s get our muscles pumping each time we go to the bathroom. Try knocking out 5-10 squats in the bathroom stall. It sounds funny and ridiculous, but it won’t take you any longer than 15-30 seconds extra and you’d be surprised how utterly sore you’ll be the next day.
It’s not selfish to take a few extra moments or even an extra hour out of each day to focus on what YOU need, what YOU want. Try adding just one of these to your daily routine next week and share your experience with us on social media using #petalfreshselfcare (we love giving shoutouts).
